China Reaffirms Commitment to UN-Centered World Order
Beijing Cites UN Charter Principles Amid US Peace Board Invite
BEIJING: (Web Desk) – China on Wednesday reaffirmed its commitment to the international system centered on the United Nations, a day after confirming it had received an invitation to join US President Donald Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace.” Beijing said its support for a UN-based global order would remain unchanged regardless of shifting international dynamics.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun told a regular press briefing that China firmly upholds international relations based on the principles and objectives of the UN Charter. While confirming that an invitation had been extended by the United States, China has not yet indicated whether it will formally accept membership in the conflict-resolution-focused board.
