China Grants Visa-Free Travel to Canada, UK
China Allows Canadians and Britons Visa-Free Entry Starting Tuesday
BEIJING: (Web Desk) – China has confirmed that Canadian and British citizens will be allowed to travel visa-free starting Tuesday, following agreements reached during official visits to Beijing. The policy will remain in effect until December 31, 2026.
The announcement came after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited China in January to strengthen bilateral relations and reduce reliance on the increasingly unpredictable United States. During their meetings with Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, visa-free travel for their citizens was among the key agreements reached.

According to China’s foreign ministry, holders of ordinary passports from Canada and the UK can enter China without a visa for tourism, business, family visits, cultural exchanges, or transit for stays up to 30 days. The policy aims to promote people-to-people exchanges and foster closer ties between China and the two countries.
