China Demands Protection for Citizens Following Karachi Bombing
China has urged the Pakistani government to ensure the safety of its citizens following a bombing incident in Karachi on Sunday night.
A convoy carrying employees of the Port Qasim Electric Power Company (Private) Limited was targeted near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, resulting in the deaths of two Chinese nationals and injuries to another Chinese national, as well as several locals, according to reports from China on Monday.
In a statement, the Chinese embassy expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist attack, offering deep condolences to the victims from both countries and heartfelt sympathies to the injured and their families. They also highlighted their commitment to collaborating with Pakistan to manage the situation effectively.
The embassy has implemented an emergency plan, calling for a thorough investigation into the attack and urging Pakistani authorities to impose severe penalties on the perpetrators. They emphasized the need for all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, institutions, and projects operating in Pakistan.
