GAZA: As the world ushered in the new year, people around the globe set new goals and expressed hopes for the future. Amid the turmoil of ongoing conflict, the children of Gaza, who have been enduring the brutal Israeli aggression for over a year, also shared their innocent and heartfelt wishes for the coming year.

A viral video on social media features several children from Gaza expressing their hopes for a better future. One child, sitting outside his tent, wishes that he no longer has to live in these tents and hopes to return home in the new year.

Another child, holding an empty food container, wishes that in 2025, he will no longer have to rely on charity and aid organizations for food. A young girl, standing barefoot on the wet ground while holding an umbrella to shield herself from the rain, wishes to receive a pair of shoes in the new year.

A Palestinian child, standing outside his tent, expresses his love for school and hopes to return to his classes in the upcoming year. Meanwhile, three young children, standing outside their tent amidst the severe rain, wish for the rain to stop so that their tent is not flooded.

Another child wishes that in 2025, they no longer have to fetch water in cans, and that the water supply system will function properly again. Another girl hopes that the gas supply in Gaza will be restored so she no longer has to gather wood to cook.

One child expresses the wish that the ongoing war will end and that his friends, who had to flee to southern Gaza, can return to northern Gaza. A girl, standing in her tent, wishes that her father, who was martyred in the ongoing war, could come back to her.

Above all, one Palestinian girl shares the most profound wish of all: the hope for a free and independent Palestinian state in the new year.
