Chief Justice Administers Oath to Three New Supreme Court Judges
Dr. Qubla Ayaz took oath as an ad hoc judge of the Sharia Appellate Bench, completing the esteemed panel under the auspices of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.
Islamabad: In a solemn ceremony at the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa administered the oath of office to three newly appointed judges: Justice Malik Shahzad, Justice Aqeel Abbasi, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan.
The swearing-in event, attended by Supreme Court judges, the Attorney General, and legal luminaries, marked the formal induction of the esteemed justices into the highest judicial forum of the country
Following President’s approval, the Ministry of Law and Justice issued notifications confirming the appointments: Justice Aqeel Abbasi, formerly Chief Justice of Sindh High Court; Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed, Chief Justice of Lahore High Court; and Lahore High Court Judge Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan, all assume their roles on the Supreme Court bench.
Additionally, Dr. Qubla Ayaz took oath as an ad hoc judge of the Sharia Appellate Bench, completing the esteemed panel under the auspices of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.

Meanwhile, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan has been appointed as the acting Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, pending formal appointment by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan, and Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui assumes duties as Acting Chief Justice of Sindh High Court.
These appointments underscore the judiciary’s commitment to upholding justice and constitutional principles across Pakistan’s judicial landscape.
