Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5 Gets Construction License

C-5 to Become Pakistan's Largest Nuclear Power Plant with 1,200 MW Capacity

Islamabad: Construction License Issued for Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5 (C-5).

According to the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA), the construction license for Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5 (C-5) has been issued. The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) applied for the license in April 2024.

Along with the application, the PAEC submitted a safety review report and other relevant documents. After a detailed review and ensuring compliance with national and international standards and regulatory requirements, the license was granted.

C-5 will be the largest nuclear power plant in Pakistan, with a production capacity of 1,200 megawatts. Strict adherence to established safety standards and regulations for the safe use of nuclear energy will be ensured.
