Chairman CDA Directs High Alert and Joint Emergency Operations Following Islamabad Storm

Chairman CDA Calls for Uninterrupted Traffic, Enhanced Sanitation, and Prompt Emergency Response

Islamabad — In response to the heavy rainfall and hailstorm that recently struck Islamabad, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defence Muhammad Ali Randhawa has issued directives for CDA, Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (MCI), and District Administration to remain on high alert and conduct joint emergency operations with full dedication.

All field teams have been immediately mobilized to provide maximum relief and assistance to affected citizens. The Emergency & Disaster Management Directorate, alongside Sanitation, Environment Wing, Building Control, Islamabad Water Agency, and Road and Maintenance Wing of CDA, have been tasked with swiftly removing fallen trees, debris, and other obstructions from major roads to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Sanitation, Environment, and Engineering departments have deployed staff and machinery to clear blockages in drains, waterways, and underpasses. A special monitoring system has been activated to ensure effective drainage in low-lying areas and key roads, preventing further disruptions.

Officials from CDA, DMA, MCI, and District Administration are actively supervising all operations on the ground. Continuous 24/7 surveillance is underway to promptly address any emergencies.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that traffic must remain uninterrupted, sanitation efforts should be intensified, and drainage systems kept fully operational to minimize public inconvenience. Citizens are urged to report any emergencies or complaints via the helpline numbers provided by CDA, DMA, MCI, and District Administration, with assurances that all grievances will be addressed promptly.

Muhammad Ali Randhawa appealed for public cooperation, stating that safety and convenience of the residents remain top priorities. He assured that all available resources are being utilized to restore normalcy in Islamabad and that efforts will continue at full pace until the city returns to routine.
