CDA Seals Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House Over Building Code Violations

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad.

According to CDA officials, several sections of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House were sealed due to violations of building codes. The operation was led by Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif, with support from Assistant Commissioner Abdullah.

This move comes in the aftermath of a protest on October 5th, when thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, broke through police barricades and entered Islamabad. The protest, which occurred during heavy rainfall, led to clashes and numerous arrests.

The protest group, estimated to be between 6,000 and 8,000 people, reached China Chowk on Jinnah Avenue after confrontations with police. Chief Minister Gandapur briefly appeared at China Chowk before moving to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House.

The federal government issued a stern warning to Chief Minister Gandapur and the PTI, cautioning them of severe repercussions for their actions.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, accused the government of illegally detaining Gandapur. However, PTV News reported that legal proceedings against him had commenced. Federal Ministers for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, and Information, Atta Tarar, denied the claims of Gandapur’s arrest.

Gandapur later surfaced at the KP Assembly late Sunday night, asserting that he had been inside the KP House the entire time.
