Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa Meets Saudi Ambassador to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Urban Development

ISLAMABAD – Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, held a high-level meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Nawaf bin Said Ahmed Al-Malki, at the CDA Headquarters today.

The meeting, held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, focused on matters of mutual interest, including the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the CDA and the Saudi government concerning the Faisal Mosque. Both sides emphasized the importance of their long-standing, brotherly relationship rooted in shared faith, deep friendship, and mutual respect.

Chairman Randhawa warmly welcomed the Saudi Ambassador and highlighted the unique and historic bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He reiterated the CDA’s commitment to further strengthening this partnership through enhanced collaboration, particularly in areas of urban development and cultural heritage.

Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Ahmed Al-Malki praised the ongoing progress and performance of the CDA under Randhawa’s leadership. He commended Islamabad’s transformation into one of the most beautiful capitals, with significant improvements in urban landscaping and civic amenities. The Ambassador also applauded CDA’s efforts in establishing a state-of-the-art nursery, turning Islamabad into a “Gardenia Hub.”

The upcoming celebration of Saudi Arabia’s National Day on September 23 was also discussed, with Chairman Randhawa assuring full support and coordination with relevant authorities for the successful facilitation of events.

Ambassador Al-Malki reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s interest in deepening economic, cultural, and religious ties with Pakistan. Both sides explored new areas of cooperation, including investment opportunities in Islamabad’s hotel industry. The Ambassador revealed that meetings with leading Saudi investors from the hospitality sector are already scheduled.

Chairman Randhawa welcomed Saudi investment and emphasized Islamabad’s openness to partnerships that enhance economic growth and cultural exchange. He described it as a privilege for the city to host such collaborations.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to further strengthen Pak-Saudi relations through joint initiatives in urban development, economic cooperation, and cultural and religious engagement.
