CDA Chairman, Jordanian Ambassador Discuss Islamabad Development & Ties

The Jordanian Ambassador assured full support from Jordan in promoting joint urban development projects between the two capitals.

ISLAMABAD – Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defense, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, held a cordial and constructive meeting with the Ambassador of Jordan, His Excellency Dr. Maen A.M. Khreasat, at the CDA Headquarters on Tuesday.

The meeting was marked by a friendly atmosphere and a shared interest in enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Jordan. Chairman CDA welcomed the Jordanian Ambassador and appreciated Jordan’s longstanding brotherly ties with Pakistan.

Ambassador Dr. Khreasat commended the impressive performance of the CDA under the leadership of Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, particularly in terms of Islamabad’s development, beautification, and overall urban prosperity. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations and noted that Islamabad and Amman have enjoyed sister-city status since 1998.

He praised Islamabad for being one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world and highlighted its thoughtful master planning, eco-friendly climate, and scenic environment.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s cooperation and reiterated that Pakistan deeply values its friendly relations with Jordan. He briefed the Ambassador on ongoing and upcoming development initiatives in Islamabad, including the uplift and renovation of the shopping complex within the Diplomatic Enclave. He noted that the CDA is engaging renowned landscaping and urban development experts to ensure the enclave meets international standards in both aesthetics and functionality.

The Ambassador welcomed these efforts, particularly CDA’s plans for upgrading facilities within the Diplomatic Enclave, and expressed Jordan’s interest in enhancing collaboration in urban development, environment, and tourism.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation between Amman and Islamabad in various sectors. The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs, symbolizing the mutual respect and deepening friendship between the two nations.
