CDA Begins Work on Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Islamabad

CDA Launches EV Charging Stations Across Islamabad

Islamabad: (Web Desk)-  Following directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated work to install electric vehicle (EV) charging points across the federal capital, reported 24NewsHD.

According to sources, the CDA will first formulate a comprehensive policy for electric charging stations before their widespread establishment. Charging points will be installed outside parking plazas, commercial complexes, and residential buildings.

The CDA has also finalized standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the safe and regular construction of these stations. In the initial phase, notices have been issued to install charging booths at all petrol pumps, prioritizing safety standards.

Moreover, authorities are considering making EV charging stations mandatory in the design of new buildings, signaling Islamabad’s commitment to promoting green transportation infrastructure and facilitating the growing adoption of electric vehicles.
