LAHORE (Web Desk): Police have registered a case against singer Faraz Khan for performing a song associated with incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan during a government-sponsored cultural event in Lahore.
According to details, the incident took place at a Music and Cultural Night held at Shalimar Gardens under the auspices of the Walled City Authority. During the programme, Faraz Khan, along with his companions, was performing qawwali when he sang “Qaidi No 804,” a song linked to Adiala Jail inmate No 804.
Following the performance, an FIR was lodged against the singer at Shalimar Police Station on the complaint of Shalimar Gardens in-charge Zamir. The case includes several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Faraz Khan stated that he performed the song on the demand of the audience, adding that the event was open to the general public. Despite this, a case was registered against him.
Police officials said an investigation has been launched and all aspects of the incident are being reviewed, with further action to be taken in accordance with the law.
