Case Filed Against Singer Salman Ahmad Under PECA for Spreading Propaganda

Lahore: A case has been registered against renowned singer Salman Ahmad under the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for allegedly spreading propaganda against state institutions on social media.
According to Lahore police, the FIR was lodged at the Defence-A police station by the police. The complaint claims that Salman Ahmad shared false and misleading content targeting national security institutions and the state through his social media account on X (formerly Twitter), where he has a following of 265.4K.
The FIR further mentions that the singer posted hate-inciting material, which was reportedly seen by a police officer on duty. Authorities allege that the post had the potential to incite unrest and damage the reputation of state institutions.

Legal action has been initiated under the PECA Act, as authorities assert that the shared content violates the law.
