By-Elections in KP Set for October 19, Senate Poll on October 30
Appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed until October 15.
PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the schedule for by-elections to local bodies and the Senate general seat in the province.
According to the official announcement, by-elections for 14 vacant seats across nine districts will be held on October 19. The districts include Peshawar, Charsadda, Shangla, Lower Dir, Malakand, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Haripur, and Mansehra.
Polling will take place from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM without any interruption, and the final results will be announced by the returning officers on October 22.
Meanwhile, the schedule for the Senate general seat election — vacated due to the disqualification of Senator Shibli Faraz — has also been released.

The Senate election will be held on October 30, with Provincial Election Commissioner Saeed Gul appointed as the Returning Officer.
Nomination papers can be submitted on October 8 and 9. The preliminary list of candidates will be published on October 10, while scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed by October 13. Appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed until October 15.
The revised list of candidates will be issued on October 18, and candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nomination papers until October 20.
