ISLAMABAD: (Showbiz Desk) – Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has opened up about her decision to continue using the surname “Ansari” despite her divorce from her first husband, Iqbal Ansari.
In a recent interview, the celebrated actress discussed several aspects of her career and personal life. At the start of the conversation, the host addressed her as Bushra Bashir, prompting her to clarify that she is widely known as Bushra Ansari, although her official name on documents is Bushra Bashir.
Bushra said she has often been advised to drop “Ansari” from her name. However, she explained that changing it could create confusion because audiences have known her by the same name for decades.
She also recalled a similar situation involving veteran actress Saba Hameed, saying people continued to refer to her as Saba Parvez for a considerable period.
The actress further pointed out that both of her daughters carry the Ansari surname and that her former husband has no objection to her continuing to use it.
“Why are people so concerned about it?” Bushra asked, making it clear that she sees no reason to change a name by which she has long been identified.
Bushra Ansari was previously married to Iqbal Ansari, with whom she has two daughters. Their marriage lasted approximately 36 years before the couple eventually divorced.
