Despite her condition, Archana has continued her professional activities, including work on YouTube projects and other commitments, according to Ayushmaan.
What is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)?
Doctors explain that CRPS is a rare nerve-related pain disorder that typically develops after an injury, fracture, or surgery. In this condition, the nervous system mismanages pain signals, resulting in intense, long-lasting pain in the affected area.
Symptoms of CRPS may include:
-
Severe burning or stabbing pain beyond normal levels
-
Extreme sensitivity to touch or small changes in temperature
-
Swelling, discoloration, sweating, stiffness, and weakness in the affected area
Doctors say the condition occurs due to abnormal signaling between the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, which continuously sends pain messages even after the initial injury has healed.
Prevention and Treatment
Medical experts emphasize that early diagnosis and proper treatment can help reduce the impact of CRPS. Research indicates that vitamin C after a wrist fracture may lower the risk of developing the condition.
Specialists also recommend a combination of medical management, physiotherapy, and pain control strategies to help patients maintain quality of life.
