COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir Visits Corps HQ Peshawar, Vows Relentless Fight Against Terrorism

Rawalpindi— Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar today, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security landscape and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.

During his visit, the Army Chief also attended the funeral prayers of the martyrs (Shuhada) of the recent Bannu Garrison incident and met with injured personnel at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Bannu. Paying tribute to the courage and resilience of Pakistan’s armed forces, Field Marshal Munir lauded their unwavering dedication in confronting and neutralizing Indian-sponsored terror networks, including the group referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij.

He reaffirmed the collective resolve of the Pakistani people to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. “The fight will continue until the menace of terrorism is decisively rooted out from every corner of the country,” he stated.

Emphasizing Pakistan’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, the COAS reiterated the state’s uncompromising stance: “All facilitators, abettors, and perpetrators of terrorism will be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice—without exception and at any cost.” He added that the real face of those sponsoring terrorism in the region will be fully exposed to the world.

Field Marshal Munir also assured the nation that the blood of innocent Pakistanis will not go in vain. “Any attempt to destabilize Pakistan internally will be met with swift, decisive, and proportionate retribution,” he declared.

The Army Chief further stressed the importance of strengthening civilian law enforcement institutions, particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. He called on government stakeholders to prioritize the institutional capacity building of these agencies and reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s full support in this regard.

Upon his arrival at Corps Headquarters, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Peshawar.
