BISP Chairperson Orders Crackdown on Illegal Payment Deductions.

Rubina Khalid Directs BISP Staff to Prioritize Elderly, Pregnant Beneficiaries.

Islamabad-Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), visited BISP offices in Chakwal and Talagang, engaging directly with beneficiaries. She addressed their concerns, reviewed office facilities, and instructed staff to ensure respectful treatment of women.

Addressing the deserving women, Senator Rubina Khalid stated that there is no fee for the BISP survey—it is completely free. She advised them not to visit repeatedly for the survey and to register a mobile number that they actively use during enrollment. She emphasized counting the full amount received, obtaining a receipt, and immediately reporting any deductions. Strict action will be taken against those involved in deductions.

During the visit, BISP Zonal Director Iftikhar Ahmad briefed Chairperson Rubina Khalid on the number of beneficiaries in all tehsils of Chakwal District and other administrative matters. Senator Rubina Khalid proposed mobile payment camps and opening bank accounts for beneficiaries from remote areas.

She also reviewed the registration process for eligible women and instructed the survey teams to ensure accurate household data entry, prioritizing elderly and pregnant women. She stated that this program is purely for the welfare of the poor. Senator Rubina Khalid stressed that women should receive their full payment amount while bank staff must provide computerized receipts.

Earlier, while speaking to public representatives at the residence of PPP Chakwal General Secretary Raja Mazhar Hussain, Chairperson Rubina Khalid said that BISP is the vision of the late Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and is a sacred institution. Following the directives of the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, no compromise will be made on complaints of mistreatment or deductions. The program is benefiting 10 million families. Under the Benazir Hunarmand Program, efforts are being made to improve the lives of deserving women and their families through skill training, as skilled labor is in demand worldwide.

She clarified that re-surveys cannot be conducted before two years, but beneficiaries who have completed three years of receiving aid must undergo a new survey. BISP messages are only sent via 8171, and beneficiaries should not visit payment centers until they receive a message. She urged women to register an active mobile number during the survey, as it is the only means of communication between BISP and beneficiaries
