The proposals also suggest removing the protection of provincial shares in the NFC Award and amendments to Article 243.

Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday revealed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has requested PPP’s support for the approval of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

He explained that the amendment package includes the establishment of a Constitutional Court, revival of executive magistrates, and provisions related to the transfer powers of judges. The proposals also suggest removing the protection of provincial shares in the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and amendments to Article 243.

Additionally, the package proposes returning the education and population planning sectors to the federal government and includes measures aimed at resolving the deadlock over postings in the Election Commission.

Bilawal further stated that the PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) will meet on November 6, after President Zardari’s return from Doha, to make a final decision regarding the party’s stance on the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
