Germany has introduced a major change for Pakistani citizens looking to apply for jobs or student visas, shifting both categories entirely to the Consular Services Portal.
According to the German Consulate, the move aims to make the visa application process faster, smoother, and more transparent, ensuring applicants face fewer delays and improved access to visa slots. The consulate added that the new system will significantly reduce backlogs and speed up overall processing time.
Under the previous setup, applicants often struggled with long waiting lists and delays in obtaining appointments.
With the launch of the new portal, applicants can now submit their visa applications directly online, making the process more efficient. The consulate has also confirmed that all existing waiting lists have been closed and will soon be removed.
Those who already hold confirmed appointments have been advised to attend their appointments as scheduled under the old system, ensuring that no applicant loses their progress.
All new applicants seeking German visas have been instructed to initiate their cases through the Consular Services Portal.
Online submissions will officially open on December 12, 2025.
