A 20-year-old female inmate at the Battagram sub-jail has reportedly been sexually assaulted, resulting in the suspension of the Jail Superintendent.
An investigation has been launched against the accused, Shahrayar, with a government hospital confirming the assault, intensifying the case.
Battagram’s District Police Officer revealed that Shahrayar has secured pre-arrest bail from a local court. However, despite the bail, a departmental investigation is ongoing following his suspension.
According to a notification from the Ministry of Interior, the inmate, Sadaf, has accused Superintendent Shahrayar of rape, prompting legal action against him.
