The Green Tourism Company is dedicated to promoting tourism through eco-friendly projects and modern development approaches. It is engaged in tasks that will significantly contribute to economic development at both national and regional levels. It’s important to note that Azad Kashmir possesses rich tourism potential, and the local population deserves equal opportunities for development like the rest of the country. By promoting tourism in Azad Kashmir and providing locals with quality employment opportunities, it ensures a better future for the people. The proactive and well-informed residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir appreciate the initiatives of the Green Tourism Company. However, certain external forces and elements hostile to the development of Azad Kashmir are disseminating misleading information for personal and political gains. The eco-friendly projects undertaken by the Green Tourism Company are poised to play a pivotal role in the advancement and growth of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, ensuring a secure and sustainable future.
In another significant development, a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) recently visited Azad Jammu and Kashmir as part of the Green Energy Drive. They signed agreements to finance two Hydro Power Projects in the region, totaling $101 million. The funding will support the Shounter and Jagran 4 Hydro Projects. The Shounter project, with an estimated cost of $66 million, aims to generate 48 megawatts of electricity. Meanwhile, the Jagran 4 project, costing $41 million, will produce 22 MW of electricity. Together, these projects will add 70 megawatts to the national grid, bolstering Pakistan’s green energy endeavors. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Investment Facilitation Committee (SIFC) played a crucial role in facilitating these agreements.

Regrettably, a few individuals are spreading unfounded propaganda against these beneficial activities aimed at the improvement and development of AJK. They claim that these initiatives are intended to sell off AJK’s resources and land to outsiders, which is entirely baseless and erroneous. In today’s interconnected world, misinformation and baseless propaganda pose significant challenges to progress and development. This is particularly evident in the public discourse surrounding development programs in various countries. Whether driven by political motives, vested interests, or misinformation, disseminating falsehoods about development initiatives can have far-reaching consequences that impede social, economic, and environmental advancement.
Readers, it is crucial to emphasize that the people of Pakistan and AJK wholeheartedly believe that the development initiatives initiated under SIFC are entirely aimed at benefiting Pakistan, AJK, and their citizens.
