Barcelona and Inter Milan Draw 3-3 in Thrilling Champions League Semi-Final First Leg

Thrilling 3-3 Draw Sets Up Tense Second Leg Between Barcelona and Inter Milan

ISLAMABAD: Barcelona and Inter Milan played out an exhilarating 3-3 draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday, with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal stealing the spotlight.

Inter Milan took an early two-goal lead, with Marcus Thuram scoring the fastest-ever Champions League semi-final goal after just 30 seconds and Denzel Dumfries adding a second with an acrobatic finish. However, Barcelona responded emphatically, with Yamal showcasing his immense talent by pulling one back with a sublime solo effort. Ferran Torres then equalized for the five-time Champions League winners, and despite Inter regaining the lead through Dumfries, an own goal from goalkeeper Yann Sommer brought the tie back to a deadlock.

Barcelona’s resilience was evident as they pushed forward with Yamal, who became the youngest player ever to score in a Champions League semi-final. His dazzling display continued throughout, nearly adding another goal with a shot that struck the crossbar.

While the game ended in a thrilling draw, both sides endured injuries, with Barcelona’s Jules Koundé and Inter’s Lautaro Martinez both limping off before half-time. The second half saw more drama, including a controversial offside decision that ruled out a Mkhitaryan goal for Inter. Despite the tense exchanges, the two teams could not be separated, setting up an intriguing second leg in Milan next Tuesday.
