ISLMABAD (Web Desk) – Bangladesh’s reported decision to avoid playing its T20 World Cup matches in India has prompted senior-level discussions at the International Cricket Council (ICC). ICC Chairman Jay Shah is expected to meet officials from both the Indian and Bangladeshi cricket boards to ease tensions and find a way forward, on Sunday.

During the talks, Shah will brief Indian board officials on the concerns raised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and is also likely to hold separate discussions with BCB President Aminul Islam. Security concerns are believed to be central to Bangladesh’s position, alongside other issues, including the exclusion of fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League, according to Indian media reports.
Bangladesh has formally asked for its World Cup fixtures, scheduled in India, to be relocated to Sri Lanka, citing safety and related issues. The matter is currently under review at the ICC level as stakeholders continue consultations to reach a mutually acceptable solution.
