Bangladesh Military Leadership Visits Pakistan to Strengthen Defense Ties

RAWALPINDI – In a significant development aimed at bolstering defense relations, Lieutenant General Qamarul Hasan, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of Bangladesh’s Armed Forces, is currently visiting Pakistan with a high-level delegation. The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to enhancing military cooperation and regional security.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Qamarul Hasan held important discussions with Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir. The meeting focused on the emerging security situation in South Asia and the importance of joint efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to mutual cooperation and defense measures to safeguard regional security.

General Munir emphasized the role of Pakistan and Bangladesh in strengthening regional peace through collaborative defense efforts. He noted that both countries would continue to support each other in addressing shared security challenges.

During the meeting, General Qamarul Hasan lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Army, commending their significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. The two sides agreed to further enhance their bilateral defense cooperation, recognizing its importance in promoting long-term stability.

Earlier in the visit, Lieutenant General Qamarul Hasan met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza. The discussions between the two military leaders focused on strategic defense matters and deepening the partnership between the two countries. Both parties reiterated the need to protect their defense collaboration from external disruptions and continue working together to ensure peace, security, and prosperity in the region.
