Bangladesh Defeat Pakistan By 11 Runs To Seal ODI Series

MIRPUR: (Web Desk) – Bangladesh national cricket team defeated Pakistan national cricket team by 11 runs in the third and deciding One Day International to win the three-match series 2-1.

The match was played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, where Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first.

Batting first, Bangladesh posted a strong total of 290 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Tanzeed Hasan starred with a brilliant century, scoring 107 runs, while Liton Das added 41 runs. Contributions also came from Saif Hasan with 36 runs and Najmul Hossain Shanto who scored 27. Towhid Hridoy remained unbeaten on 44 to help his team reach a competitive total.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Abrar Ahmed claimed one wicket each.

Chasing a target of 291 runs, Pakistan struggled early but stayed in the contest thanks to a brilliant century by Salman Ali Agha. He scored 106 runs, hitting nine fours and four sixes to keep Pakistan in the hunt.

Despite his efforts, Pakistan were bowled out for 279 runs on the final ball of the innings, falling just 11 runs short of the target. Other contributions came from Saad Masood with 38 runs, Shaheen Afridi with 37 and Abdul Samad who added 34 runs.

For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took four wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman claimed three and Nahid Rana picked up two wickets.

With this victory, Bangladesh secured an ODI series win against Pakistan after 11 years.

Earlier in the series, Bangladesh won the opening match, while Pakistan bounced back in the second ODI with a 128-run victory under the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method.
