LONDON: The ban on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other Pakistani airlines remains in effect in the United Kingdom for now.
A spokesperson for the UK Department of Transport stated that Pakistani airlines will continue to remain on the air safety list.
The statement further mentioned that airlines must undergo a rigorous process to have the ban lifted.
The spokesperson added that the Civil Aviation Authorities of Pakistan and the UK are in communication regarding the matter.
It is important to note that in July 2020, the UK and Europe imposed a ban on Pakistani airlines’ flights due to the fake pilot license scandal.
