Quetta (Web Desk) – The 22nd meeting of the Balochistan Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Sardar Sarfaraz Bugti, approved several landmark decisions aimed at good governance, law enforcement, and administrative reforms.
In a historic move, the cabinet decided to resolve the missing persons issue on a permanent basis. Chief Minister Bugti stated that politics around missing persons has been permanently addressed, and suspected individuals will now be investigated under the supervision of authorized police officers. Family members of suspects will also be allowed to meet them during investigations.
The cabinet also approved the Balochistan Center of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism Rules 2025, the Balochistan Prevention, Detention, and Radicalization Rules 2025, and the Balochistan Witness Protection Amendment Bill 2025. CM Bugti emphasized that effective laws are essential for good governance and that public safety, protection of witnesses, and strict follow-up of official cases will be ensured.
On administrative and recruitment reforms, the cabinet expressed satisfaction over merit-based recruitment through online tests in the Finance Department and decided to digitally phase recruitment processes across all departments. The cabinet also approved abolishing the Department of Religious Affairs, with employees being reassigned to other departments.

The cabinet approved the creation of two new divisions – Pishin and Koh Suleiman, with Ziarat administratively merged into Loralai. A Municipal Committee in Karbala, Pishin District was also approved. In addition, policies were approved for evaluation of law officers, grant-in-aid amendments in the Minority Affairs Department, and child labor, banning forced labor for children under 16.
Education reforms included declaring the Higher Technical Education Department as a mandatory service, verification of contract teachers’ academic credentials, and FIRs against fake degree holders. Degree verification will begin from Nasirabad and Dera Bugti, and the provincial curriculum will integrate the national curriculum from the 2026-27 academic year. The cabinet also approved the Chief Minister Academic Excellence Program for Quality Teachers Support and recruitment of ad-hoc teachers in Math, Science, and English for middle, high, and higher secondary schools.
On urban development and public amenities, the cabinet formed a committee to establish a Food Street from Saleem Complex to Liaquat Square, passing through Imdad Chowk and Taxi Stand.
CM Bugti described these approvals as a major success of the Balochistan Cabinet, emphasizing that effective governance, transparency, and development are the government’s top priorities.
