Balochistan Assembly Approves Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26

The Assembly approved non-development expenditures amounting to Rs. 660.83 billion

Quetta — The Balochistan Assembly has approved the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 during a session held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai. The session commenced with a delay of 45 minutes.

Provincial Finance Minister Shoaib Nosherwani presented a total of 94 demands for grants in the House. Of these, 53 were for non-development expenditures and 41 were for development-related expenses.

The Assembly approved non-development expenditures amounting to Rs. 660.83 billion, while development expenditures were approved to the tune of Rs. 289.64 billion.

Opposition members submitted cut motions on 11 demands for grants; however, all were rejected through a majority vote in the House.

The budget reflects the provincial government’s priorities for infrastructure development and administrative continuity in the upcoming fiscal year.
