ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has approved bail for Syed Muhammad, who was accused of spreading hate material related to Osama bin Laden.
The two-member bench, led by Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, conducted the hearing and inquired whether there was evidence of the suspect distributing the book or merely possessing it. The prosecutor stated that Syed Muhammad was involved in distributing the book and that hate material was also found on his mobile phone. The court remarked that if evidence exists, punishment can be awarded during the trial.

The defense lawyer informed the court that the accused works as a laborer in Sahiwal and was arrested by CTD Lahore in February 2025. He also highlighted inconsistencies regarding the seizure of the material.
The court noted that only four witnesses are involved in the case and the maximum punishment under the law is five years. Bail was granted temporarily, with instructions to present all evidence during the trial.
