‘Babar in, Shaheen out’
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Decides to Reappoint Babar Azam as National Team Captain.
ISLAMABAD- (Mudassar Iqbal Ch): According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made the decision to reinstate Babar Azam as the captain of the national team. The former captain will return to lead Pakistan ahead of the upcoming Twenty20 series against New Zealand.
“It’s not about the glory of being captain, it’s about Pakistan,” stated Shan Masood.
The PCB is expected to formally announce the new captain within the next few hours.
Reports suggest that Babar Azam has requested time to consider the PCB’s offer. He intends to consult with his family and friends before making a final decision.
Furthermore, it has been disclosed that the board did not have confidence in the current T20 captain, Shadab Khan. Although Shadab voluntarily stepped down from captaincy, close associates have advised him against resigning immediately.
It is worth noting that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held consultations with selectors Mohammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, and Director International Salman Waqil for three hours last night.
