Babar Azam tops ICC ODI batting rankings, Shaheen Afridi slips to second in bowling list

DUBAI: Pakistan’s cricket sensation, Babar Azam, has once again claimed the number one spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, maintaining his dominant position with an impressive 809 rating points. The Lahore-born batsman continues to shine with a remarkable batting average of 56.95 and a strike rate of 88.70 in One-Day Internationals.

Following closely in the rankings are India’s Rohit Sharma (765 points) and Shubman Gill (763 points), but neither has come close to matching Babar’s extraordinary rating, further solidifying his status as one of the top ODI players in the world.

In the latest ODI bowlers’ rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan retains the top spot, while Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi has dropped one place to second. Despite the slight slip, Afridi remains one of the most feared bowlers in world cricket.

There’s good news for Pakistan’s rising star, Saim Ayub, who has made a significant leap in the ODI rankings following his stunning unbeaten century against Zimbabwe. Saim has now broken into the top 100 ODI batsmen, securing the 90th position.

ICC Test and T20 Rankings:

In the Test rankings, England’s Joe Root continues to lead the batting list, while India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed to second. New Zealand’s Kane Williamson holds the third spot. Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel has moved up one spot to eighth, further adding to the country’s growing reputation in Test cricket.

In the T20 format, Australia’s Travis Head leads the batting rankings, with England’s Phil Salt and India’s Tilak Verma in second and third. England’s Adil Rashid tops the T20 bowlers’ rankings, with Sri Lanka’s Vinindu Harsanga and Australia’s Adam Zampa in the second and third positions.

Babar Azam’s continued dominance in the ODI rankings underscores his status as one of the best batsmen in world cricket. Additionally, Pakistan’s emerging talents, like Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel, provide a promising future for the team and excitement for fans worldwide.
