Azerbaijan Passenger Plane Crashes in Kazakhstan, 32 Miraculously Survive

Aktau: An Azerbaijan passenger plane crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, with 67 passengers and five crew members aboard. Authorities in Kazakhstan reported that 32 people survived the crash miraculously. The aircraft, which was en route from Azerbaijan to Russia, had to make an emergency landing due to a technical malfunction.

According to Reuters, an unverified video of the incident showed the Azerbaijan Airlines plane engulfed in flames shortly after hitting the ground, with thick black smoke rising from the wreckage.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan confirmed that fire services had extinguished the flames, and the survivors were receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

Azerbaijan Airlines stated that the Embraer 190 aircraft, flight number J2-8243, was traveling from Baku to Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic in Russia, when it was forced to land near Aktau. Russian news agencies reported that the plane’s course was altered due to fog in Grozny.

Kazakhstan authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash, with one possible reason being a technical issue.
