Australia’s T20 Series Against Pakistan to Feature New Skipper as Test Stars Sit Out

With Australia’s Test players unavailable due to upcoming matches against India, a fresh captain will lead the T20 squad in the series against Pakistan.

Australia will appoint a new captain for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, with key Test players unavailable as they prepare for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. Josh Inglis, Adam Zampa, and Matthew Short are top contenders to temporarily take over as T20 skipper.

Squad and Schedule Announced for Australia-Pakistan Series

Australia’s T20 squad for the three-match series will include Sean Abbott, Xavier Bartlett, and Cooper Connolly, among others, with no Test players in the 13-man lineup. Matches are scheduled in Brisbane, Sydney, and Hobart, wrapping up just days before Australia’s Test series against India begins.

In the ODI series, however, Australia’s regular coaching staff, led by Andrew McDonald, will be in charge, with Andre Borovec stepping in for the T20s. Brad Hodge and Hamish Bennett will also support Borovec during the Pakistan series.
