Australia may see the last of Indian batting mainstays Kohli and Rohit in the ODI series.

Australian crowds may bid farewell to Indian cricket legends Kohli and Rohit in this ODI series.

Australian – India  -Australian cricket fans might be seeing two of India’s greatest batsmen, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, for the final time on their home soil. The star pair are playing in a one-day series that begins in Perth this Sunday. Both players are now 36 and 38, and they only play this format for India, making their future with the team unclear.

The new head coach, Gautam Gambhir, did not give a clear answer about whether the two legends would continue playing under the new captain, Shubman Gill. This series is Gill’s first time leading the one-day team in Australia. If this is their last tour, they will play for enthusiastic crowds in Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney, where many Indian-Australian fans live.

This series also serves as a warm-up for several key Australian players before the big Ashes series. Batsman Travis Head and fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc will use these games to get ready. For Starc, this marks his first international game of the summer after stepping away from T20 cricket.

Batsman Marnus Labuschagne has a golden opportunity to earn his spot back for the Ashes. He was a last-minute addition to the team after all-rounder Cameron Green got injured. Labuschagne was dropped from the test team recently but has made a strong case for a return by scoring centuries in his last two domestic games.

Cricket Australia confirmed that Green is out of the series with minor side soreness and will likely return through domestic cricket. He joins regular captain Pat Cummins on the injury list, who is also struggling with a back issue. The Australian team will also miss wicketkeeper Alex Carey and spinner Adam Zampa for the first game in Perth, giving chances to replacements Josh Philippe and Matt Kuhnemann. Following these one-day matches, both teams will play a five-game T20 series to prepare for next year’s T20 World Cup.
