Australia Defeats West Indies by 3 Wickets in First T20 Match

Australia successfully chased down the target in 18.5 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process, and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

SYDNEY: Australia claimed victory in the first T20 match against West Indies, winning by 3 wickets in a thrilling contest.

After winning the toss, Australia opted to bowl first. West Indies openers Brandon King and Shai Hope began the innings, with King scoring 18 before being dismissed.

Roston Chase was the top scorer with a solid 60 runs, while Shai Hope contributed 55 and Shimron Hetmyer added 38. However, the middle and lower order failed to capitalize, and the team finished at 189/8 in the allotted 20 overs.

Australia was set a target of 190 runs. In response, Cameron Green scored 51, Mitchell Marsh added 24, and Mitchell Owen contributed a quick 50.
