Attaullah Tarar Vows to Crack Down on Human Traffickers

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, has assured that human traffickers will have no place to hide as the government intensifies its efforts to curb human trafficking in the country. Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Tarar highlighted the major issue of human trafficking in areas such as Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, and Gujrat, where three boats recently met with tragic accidents, leaving families waiting for the return of their loved ones’ bodies.

The Minister revealed that the government is taking significant steps to combat human trafficking, including reforms within the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and tightening the net around traffickers. As part of these efforts, 436 human traffickers have been arrested so far.

Atta Tarar further stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken strict action against human traffickers, including the confiscation of their assets and the freezing of their bank accounts. “Individuals involved in human trafficking will not be granted any leniency,” he emphasized.

He also assured that human traffickers would find no place to escape as the government continues its crackdown. “The reforms in the FIA are part of our broader strategy to stop human trafficking,” he said, pointing out that organized criminal gangs are behind much of the trafficking activity.
