Atta Tarar Terms Toshakhana-II Verdict “Justice-Based”

Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has described the court’s verdict in the Toshakhana-II case as being based on justice, saying it has exposed serious financial misconduct.

Speaking to a private news channel, Atta Tarar said that PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi deliberately undervalued gifts worth millions of rupees. By declaring a lower value, they paid a reduced amount to the state, causing losses of crores of rupees to the national exchequer and unlawfully retaining the gifts for personal use.

He added that the sentence awarded in the Toshakhana-II case will begin after the completion of the sentence in the 190 million pounds case. According to him, once the 14-year sentence ends, the 17-year sentence in the Toshakhana-II case will commence.

Referring to audio and video recordings attributed to Bushra Bibi, Mustafa Kamal said the evidence was very clear and the alleged activities took place at the residence of a former prime minister. He added that even if Imran Khan was unaware, responsibility still rests with him.

“Our tragedy is that we prioritize glamour over character,” Mustafa Kamal said, expressing hope that the verdict would yield positive outcomes in the days ahead.
