RAWALPINDI – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant for Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in connection with a case related to the November 26 protest registered at the Sadiqabad police station. The court rejected Aleema Khan’s request for a one-day exemption from personal appearance and directed that she be indicted on October 11.

During the hearing, the prosecution raised objections regarding the legal representation of Aleema Khan. Prosecutor Zaheer Shah informed the court that the power of attorneys for her lawyers, Muhammad Faisal Malik and Hasnain Sumbal, were missing from the case record. He argued that without these documents, the lawyers could not be considered her legal representatives in the proceedings.
Taking note of the objection, the court ruled that Aleema Khan must appear in person for the next hearing and fixed October 11 for the indictment proceedings. The case involves multiple PTI leaders and supporters who were charged under anti-terrorism laws following protests held on November 26.
