ATC Issues Fourth Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant for Aleema Khan

Aleema reportedly commented, "Every day, new arrest warrants are being issued against us."

RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi has once again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, due to her continued absence from court proceedings. This is the fourth time such warrants have been issued in connection with the case related to the November 26 protest.

During the hearing, Judge Amjad Ali Shah ordered the forfeiture of surety bonds worth Rs 1 million submitted by Aleema Khan’s guarantor, Umar Sharif. The court also directed Aleema to present two new sureties worth Rs 1 million each and produce a new guarantor.

Aleema Khan was one of 11 accused named in the case. While the other 10 appeared in court, Aleema remained absent. The court expressed displeasure and issued a show-cause notice to her guarantor, demanding a reply by October 24.

Aleema reportedly commented, “Every day, new arrest warrants are being issued against us.”

The court also issued show-cause notices to SP Rawal Muhammad Saad and DSP Naeem, rejecting their reports claiming Aleema Khan was in hiding, and termed them bogus. The judge questioned, “If she is in hiding, how are her media talks being aired outside Adiala Jail?”

The court further seized surety bonds worth Rs 8.5 million related to four vehicles previously handed over to owners. Orders were issued to IGs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to confiscate the vehicles and present them in court.

The next hearing is scheduled for October 24.
