Asif Inam officially named new chairman of SSGC board today
Asif Inam appointed SSGC Chairman, bringing extensive textile expertise and global experience to Pakistan’s energy and industrial sectors.
SSGC – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Asif Inam has been named the new Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Tuesday. A prominent Pakistani industrialist and businessman, Inam previously served as the chairman of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA).
SSGC officially informed its shareholders about the appointment through a letter submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The listed energy company said “We have to inform you that Asif Inam has been appointed as Chairman Board of Directors of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited with effect from 05 January 2026.”
According to information available on the SSGC website, Asif Inam is a distinguished Pakistani businessman and industrialist with an established reputation in the textile sector.
Inam has extensively travelled across the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, the Middle East and the Far East, contributing to his broad global exposure.
A subject-matter expert in cotton and textiles, he has conducted significant research in the field and is well-versed in the full spectrum of cotton varieties. He also possesses deep insight into national energy challenges, particularly those affecting the textile industry.
His informed views on economic, trade and industrial matters are widely recognised and frequently sought by national media platforms.
He serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Diamond International Corporation Limited, a leading textile spinning enterprise with an annual turnover of approximately Rs12 billion, and as Chairman and Director of N.P. Cotton Mills Limited, another prominent spinning mill with an annual turnover of about Rs14 billion.

SSGC’s main activity is the transmission and distribution of natural gas in Sindh and Balochistan. The company is also engaged in certain activities related to the gas business, including the manufacturing and sale of gas meters and construction contracts for laying of pipelines.
Last month, SSGC shareholders elected a new Board of Directors for a three-year term, effective December 24, 2025.
The newly elected directors included Zuhair Siddiqui, Asif Inam, Saira Najeeb Ahmed, Usman Ahmed Chaudhry, Muhammad Dawood Bazai, Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Rehan Hashmi, Mohammad Ali Khan, Khalid Rahman, Salima Feerasta and Navaid Malik.
