Asia Cup T20 2025: India Defeat Pakistan by 7 Wickets in High-Voltage Clash

Chasing a target of 128, India comfortably reached the score in the 16th over with 7 wickets in hand.

Dubai (Roshan Pakistan News) – India secured a dominant 7-wicket victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in the sixth match of the Asia Cup T20 2025, held in Dubai.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first, but their decision quickly backfired as the batting line-up crumbled under pressure from the Indian bowling attack. The top order collapsed, and Pakistan managed to post a modest total of 127 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

The first blow came on the very first ball of the innings when opener Saim Ayub was dismissed for a golden duck by Hardik Pandya, caught by Jasprit Bumrah. The wickets kept falling at regular intervals:

  • Mohammad Haris scored 3 runs before being dismissed by Bumrah with the team total at 6.

  • Fakhar Zaman added 17 runs and was dismissed at 45 by Axar Patel.

  • Captain Salman Agha followed soon after, scoring only 3 runs, also falling to Axar Patel.

  • Hassan Nawaz managed just 5 runs before becoming Kuldeep Yadav’s first victim.

  • Saibzada Farhan, who showed some resistance, scored 40 off 44 balls before falling to Kuldeep.

  • Faheem Ashraf scored 11 runs before getting out at 83.

  • Sufiyan Muqeem made 10 runs and was dismissed at 111.

The standout performance with the bat came from Shaheen Afridi, who played a quickfire unbeaten knock of 33 runs off 16 balls, including four sixes, to give Pakistan some late momentum.

India’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance:

  • Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets

  • Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel claimed 2 wickets each

Chasing a target of 128, India comfortably reached the score in the 16th over with 7 wickets in hand.

Key contributions in India’s batting:

  • Abhishek Sharma – 31 runs

  • Tilak Varma – 31 runs

  • Shubman Gill – 10 runs

  • Shivam Dube – 10 runs

  • Captain Suryakumar Yadav – played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 47 runs

Interestingly, all three wickets taken by Pakistan came from part-time spinner Saim Ayub, providing a rare highlight in an otherwise disappointing outing for the Green Shirts.

India now strengthen their position in Group A, while Pakistan face questions over their top-order reliability and overall performance in this crucial encounter.
