ISLAMABAD: The opening Test of the Ashes series concluded dramatically on just the second day, with Australia defeating England by 8 wickets in Perth.

England set a target of 204 runs for the hosts, but Australia chased it down comfortably thanks to a blistering century from opener Travis Head. He scored 123 runs off 69 balls, smashing 16 fours and 4 sixes, registering the second-fastest century in Ashes history. The record for the fastest Ashes century remains with Adam Gilchrist, who reached his hundred off just 57 deliveries.
