Arshad Nadeem Receives Hero’s Welcome as President Confers Hilal-e-Imtiaz
President Asif Ali Zardari is set to award the Hilal-e-Imtiaz to Arshad Nadeem, the gold medalist in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024, in a special ceremony at the President’s House in Islamabad today (Thursday).
Arshad Nadeem, hailing from Mian Channu village, achieved a remarkable feat by winning the gold medal with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters, surpassing 118 previous records at the Paris Olympics.

Upon his return to Pakistan, Arshad Nadeem was warmly celebrated with a hero’s welcome at Allama Iqbal International Airport, where a large crowd gathered to honor his international success.
In recognition of his achievement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with the provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, have announced prize money for Nadeem. Additionally, several private companies have offered vehicles to the athlete.
Looking ahead, the next Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles in 2028. Until then, Arshad Nadeem’s gold medal stands as a historic achievement, unless someone surpasses his record or he defends his title in future competitions.
