Army Chief Vows Firm Action for Balochistan’s Peace, Progress
Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Participants of 17th National Workshop Balochistan at GHQ
RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), met with participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) and held detailed discussions on the province’s development, public welfare, and security.
During the interaction, the Field Marshal described Balochistan as the pride of Pakistan, emphasizing that the province can play a key role in the country’s progress through its talented, patriotic, and determined people.
He appreciated the ongoing efforts aimed at improving the social and economic landscape of Balochistan under a people-centric development strategy, adding that harnessing the province’s vast economic potential for public welfare is the need of the hour.
Highlighting the importance of civil society and youth empowerment, Field Marshal Munir praised efforts to involve young people in the sustainable development of Balochistan. He urged the youth to work selflessly for the prosperity of the province, putting aside personal or political interests.

The COAS expressed concern over negative propaganda spread by India-backed elements and other terrorist groups, stating that the state is taking strong action to eliminate such threats and ensure lasting peace in the province.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan desires peace and stability in the region, but any violation of the country’s territorial integrity will be met with a firm and decisive response. He also stressed the importance of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
The session concluded with an open and informative Q&A session, where participants engaged in detailed discussions with the Field Marshal on the province’s development and security challenges.
