Armed Assailants Attempt to Attack School Headmaster in Sujawal

Four men arrived outside village Hussainabad inquired about Aziz Allah Dino Khowaja.

SUJAWAL(Kamran Khamiso Khowaja) In a shocking incident, two armed assailants attempted to attack a high school headmaster in broad daylight on Friday outside his village.

According to local villagers, the four men, two of them identified as Shah Nawaz Jatoi and Sawan Jatoi, arrived outside village Hussainabad, located on the main Jati-Sujawal road, and inquired about Aziz Allah Dino Khowaja. When he arrived, one of the assailants pulled out a pistol and attempted to overpower him.

The local villagers and pedestrians present at the scene tried to intervene, but the assailants began manhandling the teacher and his fellow villagers. As soon as the miscreants saw a police mobile heading towards them, they resorted to indiscriminate firing on local villagers and police in an attempt to create fear.

A local villager requesting anonymity said that the assailants were apprehended near the shrine of Shah Hussain Shah, and the police recovered two motorcycle and a pistol from their possession.

When contacted, Aziz Allah Dino, the victim, revealed that men from the Jatoi tribe had been after him for the past few weeks following a land dispute and had been issuing threats of dire consequences. He had informed the heads of the local community about the threats.

Later that day, women from the Jatoi tribe stormed into the Jati police station, demanding the registration of a case against the headteacher. However, villagers from Hussainabad met with SSP Sujawal Alina Rajpar, urging her to increase security outside the village.

SSP Sujawal stated that she had noted the villagers’ concerns and was investigating the incident from multiple angles. She assured the villagers of their safety and security.

Separately, officials from the Government School Teachers Association condemned the ambush on the honest and dutiful officer. In a statement issued on Saturday, they urged law enforcement agencies to eliminate elements involved in heinous offenses.
