Apple launches new MacBooks to boost sales
The 13-inch MacBook Air starts at $1,099.
NEW YORK (Web Desk): Apple on Tuesday launched a refreshed series of MacBook laptops, with prices starting at $1,099, as the company seeks to attract customers amid a shrinking PC market and ongoing memory chip shortages.
The new lineup includes the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, both powered by Apple’s in-house M-series chips. Since moving away from Intel processors in 2020, Apple has highlighted improved performance and longer battery life, positioning its laptops as a key differentiator against Windows-based PCs.

The 13-inch MacBook Air starts at $1,099, while the MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro chip begins at $2,199.
While the Mac contributes a smaller portion of revenue compared to the iPhone, it remains strategically important, particularly in education, creative industries, and premium consumer segments.
