Citizens, Civil Society, and Political Leaders Unite to Condemn India’s August 5 Actions; Call for Implementation of UN Resolutions on Kashmir
QUETTA: Senior leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) participated in Youm-e-Istehsal events held in Quetta to mark the fifth anniversary of the Indian government’s unilateral and illegal revocation of Article 370 and 35A of its own constitution, which granted special status to Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The rally drew a large gathering of citizens, human rights activists, members of civil society, and political representatives from across Balochistan, all of whom came together to express unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Carrying placards and banners, the participants chanted slogans against India’s illegal occupation and demanded justice for the oppressed Kashmiri population.Speaking at the event, APHC leaders strongly condemned the Indian government’s actions of August 5, 2019, labeling them as a blatant violation of international laws and United Nations Security Council resolutions.

They reiterated that Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory and that India’s attempts to alter its demographic and political character will never be accepted by the Kashmiri people.
“The Indian government may try to suppress voices through force, but the spirit of the Kashmiri people remains unbroken,” said one of the APHC representatives. “Kashmiris have not accepted Indian occupation in the past, and they will not accept it now.”The speakers also called upon the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take concrete steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. They urged global human rights organizations to take notice of the ongoing atrocities, including arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, and media blackouts in the region.
The event concluded with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and a renewed pledge to continue supporting the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people until they achieve their right to self-determination.
