Apex committee session expresses ‘zero tolerance’ against terrorism,

PM, COAS hold talks before  meeting,

ISLAMABAD – The Apex committee session was held under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in which it was decided to eliminate the scourge of terrorism with utmost resolve.

Addressing the session, the premier said absolute state machinery would be utilized to stop the terrorist attacks in the country and the focus would be on operational preparedness, increasing the capability of the police.

The PM praised, as sources said, the security forces for a successful operation against terrorists who attacked the Karachi police office while condemning in severe terms the incident.

The participants of the session expressed absolute determination to fight the menace of terrorism.

Earlier, Ahead of apex committee’s meeting, which is to be held today, Army Chief General Asim Munir called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House on Friday afternoon,

Quoting its sources, that the law and order situation was discussed at the meeting.

Besides that, the army chief also briefed PM Shehbaz about the situation on the country’s frontiers as well as professional matters.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had yesterday (Thursday, February 23, 2023) convened the apex committee’s meeting to receive briefing from the army’s high command about the anti-terrorism operations being carried out in the country.
