Another female student attempts suicide at University of Lahore campus
Tragic incidents in Lahore: University student suicide and fatal road accident highlight urgent safety concerns in the city.
Lahore – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – A female student attempted suicide by jumping from the second floor of a University of Lahore building on Monday. Police identified her as 21-year-old Fatima Hussain, a D-Farm student, who sustained serious injuries.
Authorities from Nawab Town police rushed her to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. Fatima, originally from Narang Mandi in Sheikhupura, survived the fall but remains hospitalized. This incident follows a tragic case on December 20, 2025, when a fifth-semester student at the same university died after jumping from the fourth floor of a campus building.
The student was enrolled in the Faculty of Pharmacy and was an out-station student from Kamalia residing in a hostel. According to preliminary information, he had been under stress due to ongoing issues at home.
Following the incident, the student remained under medical treatment until 7 pm, when he succumbed to his injuries, despite false reports circulating on social media claiming he was still alive.

A 50-year-old unidentified man breathed his last when a vehicle hit him badly after which from the Flyover Bridge in the Kot Lakhpat area of Lahore.
After receiving the report, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead man to the hospital’s mortuary.
The driver of the vehicle escaped from the scene. Police started a search operation to apprehend the driver.
